Do you travel to me?

Yes, we offer free on-site travel within the immediate Twin Cities metro area (within 15 miles of Semple Mansion at 100 W Franklin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55404) for groups of 5 or more. There is a travel fee for locations outside the immediate metro area or for smaller parties.

How do I book?

We streamline the booking process with our quote estimator. Fill it out with the services you know you want, and press “Accept Quote” to initiate the booking process. We will use this information to put together your contract and invoice, which we will email to you to e-sign and pay the 50% deposit securely online with a credit card.

How far do you travel?

We have traveled as far as Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic for our couples. Travel costs are $35 per hour per team member and $.75 per mile round trip. Our driving distance usually maxes out around two and a half hours. Farther away requires us to leave too early in the morning to be safe, so anything over that range involves an overnight stay. Please contact us for out of state or out of country rates.

Can you work with all different hair textures and/or a diverse group of people?

Yes! We have a diverse team and pride ourselves on being proficient at working with all ages, genders, skin tones, and hair textures.

Can I come to you?

You bet! We have a lovely studio inside Semple Mansion in the Loring Park neighborhood of Minneapolis. We can accommodate small to large-sized parties, and you are welcome to bring food, drinks, and music to enjoy while you get ready.

What are your COVID-19 policies?

We reserve your wedding date and staff as soon as you book, so we cannot refund deposits if you cancel. However, if there is another COVID shutdown or your venue has implemented drastic COVID restrictions, we will work with you to find a new date and transfer all of your services at no additional cost. If you need to move your wedding outside of our complimentary travel range, our regular travel fee will apply.

Our safety and sanitation did not have to change much with the new guidelines. We have always used a deep-cleaned set of brushes and hair tools for each client. We do not spot clean but put every used implement in a separate container to be taken back to the salon and sanitized before being put back into rotation. We use C3 - Cosmetology Complete Care Disinfectant.

How many people can you accommodate?

We have a large team and can accommodate groups of up to 20 people on your wedding day. However, we need more notice for larger groups to ensure that we have the appropriate number of staff available.

What is your payment policy for beauty services?

All services must be secured with a 50% deposit to reserve the date, the deposit is non-refundable. Last-minute wedding reservations (1 month or less) must be paid in full at time of booking. Add-ons on the wedding day can be paid for via cash, card or Venmo. We do not accept checks. We do offer rainchecks for photoshoot clients only, who’s event was rescheduled due to inclement weather.

What type of payment do you accept?

Deposits can be made by check or credit card via invoice. Final payment for all services is two weeks prior to the service date.

Will you provide a schedule for the wedding day?

While schedules are amazing when everything aligns perfectly, real-life weddings can often throw in some delightful chaos. We prefer a rough outline, prioritizing those who need to be ready at specific times, and saving the bride for last ensures she's the freshest and enjoys the full support of her entourage. Flexibility and preparedness are key in crafting beauty schedules that adapt to the enchanting unpredictability of every wedding day.

Do all Luminous Beauty teams follow the same wedding day beauty timelines?

No, each Luminous Beauty team operates with a unique artistic touch. We understand that every bride's needs and preferences vary. To ensure your wedding day beauty timeline is perfectly tailored to your vision, our team will discuss timeline logistics with you during your trial run or approximately 6 weeks before the big day. This personalized approach ensures that your beauty experience is as unique as you are, reflecting your individual style and preferences. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we're here to make your wedding day beauty journey truly exceptional.

How long do hair and makeup services generally take?

Hair and makeup time varies by person and factors like hair length and desired look. An approximate guideline is 30 minutes for hair and makeup for each guest, and 1 hour for hair and makeup for the bride. Senior team members may be faster.

Can my party come to you?

Can I come in for a trial run before booking my wedding?

You are welcome to have a trial run before booking your wedding beauty services. However, we do not hold dates without a deposit, so you may lose your wedding date if your trial is scheduled several weeks out. Therefore, we recommend booking your trial as soon as possible.

Do you offer trial runs to anyone else in the wedding party?

Of course! A trial run is available to everyone before the wedding day. The cost of the trial run is the same as the wedding day service.

Does everyone have to get airbrush and lashes?

No. We offer a la carte pricing so you can choose the services you want and only pay for what you need. Your wedding is as unique as you are, so we don't offer one-size-fits-all pricing.

Do I have to have 5 people for both hair and for makeup?

Yes! We send a stylist and artist to your location, so we have a 5-person minimum for both. We can usually accommodate smaller parties or solo brides by adding you to the beginning of our day or after a larger wedding if you are flexible with your start time and can come into our Semple Mansion studio.

Can I book you for just hair or just makeup?

Of course! We love to work as a team, but we are also happy to provide individual beauty services.
